My clients wanted a “happy home; warm, bright, and cosy.” This Lion House in the Peterborough Estate, Fulham, needed to be easy to live in with young children — all while offering plenty of storage. We extended the kitchen at the back and added a Crittall-style fixed panel to separate the entrance from the living room, allowing light to flow freely throughout the space. Downstairs, the basement was redesigned to include a spacious family and media room — a bright, comfortable area for everyone to enjoy — along with a separate guest room, bathroom, and utility room. I reworked the internal layout, advised on materials, colours, and lighting, and designed the bespoke joinery throughout. The furniture was carefully chosen together with my clients so that every detail felt personal and true to the warm, cheerful atmosphere they wanted to create. Photo credits Chris Snook & Rachael Smith.
