Eel Brook Common

The brief was to completely rework the kitchen layout without modifying the structure of the rear extension. Together with my client, we explored different possibilities until we found a layout that works perfectly for the whole family. The previous kitchen was organised very differently, with a long island that took up a lot of space, a massive extractor hood in the middle of the room, and cabinets that didn’t provide enough storage. Having lived in the house for many years, my client was dreaming of a more functional kitchen with a marble worktop and striking black-and-white contrasts. It was a fun project to work on together, and I was happy to guide decisions on the layout, materials and furniture, while adding a few pink accents — my client’s favourite colour. The result is a kitchen that is both practical and stylish, designed to suit the family’s daily life while reflecting their personality. Photo credit Veronica Rodriguez.
